AI ROADMAP INSTITUTE
ACCELERATING THE SEARCH FOR
GENERAL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
"Our mission is to accelerate the search for safe human-level artificial intelligence by encouraging, studying, mapping and comparing roadmaps towards this goal."

COMPARE
Study, map and compare technical, safety and futuristic roadmaps in an unbiased and agnostic manner

ADVOCATE
Encourage 'big picture' thinking by advocating the creation of roadmaps towards human-level artificial intelligence

FORESEE
Analyze and compare forward-looking roadmaps that outline approaches to be taken towards general artificial intelligence

IDENTIFY
Identify the fastest and safest path towards general AI by identifying dead ends and open research problems on which the community should focus

NEXT STEPS
COMPARING ROADMAPS, AVOIDING DEAD ENDS AND IDENTIFYING OPEN RESEARCH QUESTIONS, ARE ALL CHALLENGING PROBLEMS. TO START SOLVING THEM, WE PROPOSE TO UNDERTAKE THE FOLLOWING NEXT STEPS:
1
We will organize a series of events that will start the discussion on how to effectively compare roadmaps (beginning with technical, folowed by safety and futuristic roadmaps) and ecourage their creation, create roadmap comparisons, avoid potential dead ends along the road towards general AI and identify areas of future focus the community should direct their attention to.
2
PROPOSALS
The outcome of organized events and discussions will be proposals on how to compare roadmaps for building intelligent machines, avoid dead ends along the way, identify important open research questions and effectively map the AI landscape. Proposals will be collaborative or individual efforts that will form the basis for further discussions by the community.
3
The wider community is able to discuss and comment upon all outputs and activities of the institute or discuss any issues related to AI, road-mapping and all associated challenges. Proposals that are created as outcomes of events such as the ones organized by the institute in step 2 will be especially encouraged to be scrutinized to get as much feedback from the community as possible.
4
PUBLISHING
The outcomes of events, subsequent proposals and discussions with the wider community will be published as reports and guides. These in turn will be used by the institute and by others to compare existing roadmaps and produce reports and visual comparisons that will be available here for all.
PROJECTS
PROJECTS THAT ACCELERATE THE SEARCH TOWARDS
SAFE HUMAN-LEVEL ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

ROADMAP COMPARISON
We study, analyze and compare existing roadmaps towards human-level artificial intelligence.
OPEN RESEARCH QUESTIONS
We are continually identifying open research questions and areas of research that the AI community should focus on.
AI LANDSCAPE MAPPING
The landscape of AI research is expanding at a rapid rate. It is increasingly more difficult to keep up-to-date with all relevant progress in the field. We strive to find ways to track progress in the field in a manageable way, for it to be beneficial to all of our endeavors.
DISCUSS & COLLABORATE
Collaboration is key to success. We strive to be as open as possible and allow the wider community to join us or engage into a dialogue with us and with peers within the community to find answers to these tough questions.

PARTNERS & SUPPORTERS
The Czech Technical University in Prague (ČVUT) is one of the biggest and oldest technical universities in Europe. It was founded on the initiative of Josef Christian Willenberg on the basis of a decree issued on January 18th, 1707 by Emperor Josef I.
The institute's founding company GoodAI and ČVUT cooperate and share knowledge. Together they co-organized Summer School workshops and public lectures by GoodAI members at the University campus. ČVUT professors have been advising on GoodAI's R&D activities and projects, such as the AI Roadmap Institute and the General AI Challenge.
